Junior Interior Designer
JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Interior Designer will contribute to the success of the firm by assisting with all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation, technical drawings, maintaining organized binders and the sample library. The Junior Interior Designer is responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables in both FF&E and construction documentation for design intent. They work under the direction of the Project’s Lead Designer on tasks and deliverables and work directly with them to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion; on-time, on/under-budget, and in full compliance with LINC’s quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work directly with designer(s) on prototypical and semi-custom projects.

Maintain an organized sample library and design resources.

Assist in drafting and design tasks, including:
-
Setting up title blocks, cover sheets, sheet indexes, and general notes.

Creating FF&E overall plans, lighting/RCPs, finish plans, elevations, and details.

Updating plans based on redlines from the Lead Designer.

Input brand-standard FF&E packages into specification documents.
-
Support designer(s) with the following, including but not limited to
-
Design presentations, material selections, and vendor communications.

Gather and review brand-standard price lists and preliminary pricing/quotes for FF&E.

Learn how to review shop drawings and documentation to provide vendor feedback.

Participate in shopping, staging, and styling as directed.

Partner with designer(s) in developing value engineering solutions with vendors.

Attend OAC/client calls and site visits as requested by projects lead designer.

Gain technical knowledge and skills under the guidance of senior designers and the Director of Interior Design.

Assist in budget calculations and product pricing.

Ensure timely and professional responses to emails and calls.
-
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

Perform other related duties as assigned by designer director and or managers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited CIDA institution.

1–3 years of experience in interior design.

Experience with writing specifications and budgeting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
LEED certification or preparation for NCIDQ certification.
-
Experience in hospitality or commercial design.
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Enscape and other 3D programs.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS:
-
Prolonged periods working at a desk and on a computer.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
-
Moving & lifting furniture during installations
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Background check and drug test required.
-
Some travel may be required.
